July 12 - "Trouble Man" Brings the Music of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell to New Tampa Performing Arts Center

TAMPA, FL — For an evening that trades fireworks for falsetto, New Tampa Performing Arts Center is hosting "Trouble Man: A Tribute to Marvin Gaye" on Sunday, July 12 — a full live musical tribute to one of soul music's most enduring icons.
Billboard artist L. Young leads the show as Marvin Gaye, backed by an all-star band and joined by vocalist Crystal Starr stepping into the role of Tammi Terrell for the legendary duet numbers. Expect a setlist built around the hits that made Gaye a household name across six decades of soul: "What's Going On," "Let's Get It On," "Sexual Healing," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "Mercy Mercy Me," "You're All I Need to Get By," and the title track, "Trouble Man."
Why It's Worth Going
L. Young has built a following well beyond the tribute-show circuit — including a viral a cappella cover of "Uptown Funk" that landed on Good Morning America — and brings that same showmanship to channeling Gaye's voice and stage presence. Paired with Crystal Starr as Tammi Terrell, the duet segments are where the show is expected to really land, recreating the chemistry of one of Motown's most beloved pairings.
Two Shows, One Night
The performance is scheduled for two separate sets, giving attendees flexibility on timing — a 3:30 PM matinee and a 6:30 PM evening show.
