October 17 - New $35M Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA Announces Free Grand Opening Community Block Party

WESLEY CHAPEL / PASCO COUNTY, FL — The community's brand-new, state-of-the-art wellness anchor is officially inviting the entire neighborhood inside this weekend. The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA has finalized the official community lineup for the grand opening Community Block Party at the Mary W. Sierra Family YMCA, locked in for Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

What to Expect

The massive neighborhood celebration is completely free to attend and open to both existing members and general non-member families. The outdoor plaza and indoor common spaces will feature a live DJ layout, interactive youth games, specialized prize drawings, local business vendor booths, and exclusive promotional membership offers. Throughout the morning, YMCA staff will lead guided facility tours, giving residents their first comprehensive look at the newly opened 49,319-square-foot campus, which boasts a premier indoor lap pool, high-tech wellness studios, a full-court gym, and secure youth play spaces.

Why It Matters for Wesley Chapel

Representing a massive $35 million infrastructure investment next door to BayCare Hospital, the facility is designed to serve nearly 40,000 regional households and injects over 300 active jobs into Pasco County. The grand opening block party transitions the project from a long-awaited construction site into a functioning, centralized neighborhood hub, allowing local parents to explore fall youth sports registries, swim lessons, and family health resources close to home.
