Tampa Bay Rays Watch Party Makes a Splash at Epperson Lagoon Aug. 30

WESLEY CHAPEL / PASCO COUNTY, FL — Wesley Chapel's own stretch of Florida beach is turning into a Tampa Bay Rays Watch Party this month, giving local fans a way to cheer on the team without giving up their spot in the water.

Epperson Lagoon hosts a Tampa Bay Rays Watch Party on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., with the game playing on-site while guests enjoy the lagoon's seven acres of sand, water and shade.

What to Expect

The watch party is included with regular Epperson Lagoon admission — no separate ticket required. Fans can settle in with a cabana, grab a drink from The Sandbar swim-up bar, or just find a patch of sand and watch the game unfold on the big screen while the kids hit the inflatable slide or floating obstacle course.

It's a lower-key way to catch the Rays than a trip to the ballpark, and one that doubles as a family outing rather than a dedicated game-day plan.

Why It Matters for Wesley Chapel

Epperson Lagoon has become one of the community's go-to spots for weekend outings, and watch parties like this one are part of a regular lineup of events the lagoon runs throughout the summer — alongside movie nights, trivia, bingo and live music. For families who want Rays baseball on in the background without missing a beach day, this is about as convenient as it gets.
