Home Depot Breaks Ground Along SR 56 in Wesley Chapel
WESLEY CHAPEL / PASCO COUNTY, FL — A new Home Depot is moving forward along State Road 56, adding another major retail project to one of Wesley Chapel's busiest commercial corridors. The project is planned near Tampa Premium Outlets and will bring the home-improvement retailer to Wesley Chapel for the first time.
What Is Planned for the Site
The project is planned for an approximately 11.47-acre property near Pondside Drive, across from Tampa Premium Outlets in the Cypress Creek Town Center area.
Plans call for a roughly 107,000-square-foot Home Depot, along with a 28,000-square-foot outdoor garden center and approximately 350 parking spaces.
The project is expected to give residents a new option for home-improvement supplies, building materials, appliances, garden products and related services without having to leave the Wesley Chapel area.
Why This Location Matters
SR 56 has become one of the area's major retail and commercial corridors, with shopping centers, restaurants, hotels and other businesses continuing to expand along the roadway.
Adding a large home-improvement store to the corridor could also make the area more convenient for homeowners and contractors who currently travel to other parts of the region for Home Depot.
Construction Is Still Moving Through the Development Process
Initial work at the property includes site preparation and infrastructure-related construction. Additional stages of the project will still need to move through the applicable permitting and development process before the store is completed.
An official opening date has not been announced.
Why It Matters for Wesley Chapel
For a community that continues to see new homes, businesses and commercial development, the arrival of a major home-improvement retailer adds another everyday service directly within the Wesley Chapel area. It also reflects the continued growth of the SR 56 commercial corridor.
