Moffitt Cancer Center Hosts Ribbon Cutting for Massive New Pasco Campus

WESLEY CHAPEL / PASCO COUNTY, FL — Local healthcare infrastructure reached a massive milestone on Thursday, Oct. 22, as Moffitt Cancer Center hosted its official ribbon-cutting ceremony for its brand-new regional mega-campus. The event marks a major expansion for specialized care in Pasco County.

Project Milestones

The sweeping facility represents a $600 million active construction investment backed by the cancer center, the state of Florida, and Pasco County. With roughly 60% of the interior layout completely finalized, the grand unveiling establishes the center's first standalone footprint in the immediate county area.

Why It Matters for Wesley Chapel

While Moffitt operates various outpatient centers across the region—including an active partner location inside Wesley Chapel—this dedicated inpatient and research campus will serve as a premier regional hub. It ensures local patients can access top-tier clinical trials and specialized oncological therapies without commuting into downtown Tampa.
