Tampa Bay Rodeo Returns for Its First-Ever Labor Day Weekend Show
DOVER / HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — "Florida's Hottest Show on Dirt" is bringing its boots, bulls and barrel racing back for a holiday weekend first. The Tampa Bay Rodeo & Family Festival returns Friday and Saturday, Sept. 4–5, at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds in Dover — its first-ever Labor Day Weekend appearance.
What to Expect
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. each day, with live music kicking off at 5:45 p.m. and full rodeo competition taking the arena at 7:30 p.m. Events include bull riding, bronco busting, barrel racing and calf roping, with the region's top cowboys and cowgirls competing across both nights.
Beyond the arena, the Family Festival side of the event leans into classic county-fair fun — food vendors serving barbecue, tacos and funnel cake, a mechanical bull, ax throwing, a giant inflatable slide, and a 150-foot American flag flying above the grounds as part of the event's continued nod to America's 250th anniversary celebrations.

The rodeo has run multiple times already in 2026, including a sold-out July stop, but this marks its first time landing on Labor Day Weekend. Organizers say the move came directly from fan demand after July's turnout.
