Tampa Is Throwing a Massive Free July 4th Party for America's 250th Birthday — and It's Going to Be Historic

TAMPA, FL — America turns 250 this July Fourth, and Tampa is going all out for it. Liberty by the Bay is the city's free, family-friendly celebration at Julian B. Lane Park on July 4, running from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM along the Tampa waterfront.
Tampa is sending 250 drones into the sky to honor 250 years of American independence — one drone per year of the country's existence. Add a massive fireworks show over the water, live music, food trucks, and one of the most scenic waterfront settings in Florida, and you have an Independence Day celebration worth planning ahead for.

Full fireworks display over the Hillsborough River
Live musical performances throughout the afternoon and evening
Food trucks and vendors spread across Julian B. Lane Park

Family-friendly atmosphere from start to finish

Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park is about 40 minutes from Wesley Chapel. The TECO Streetcar is free and connects nearby areas of downtown. Rideshare is strongly recommended — parking downtown fills up fast on July 4th. Bring lawn chairs or blankets, arrive early to stake out a good spot near the waterfront, and plan to stay for the full show.
